The 20th Venice International Backgammon Tournament, part of the European Backgammon Tour, took place on November 28th through the 30th. The event saw many players vying for several top titles of backgammon play. Players could compete on the Championship, Intermediate and Amateur levels as well as play Doubles and other small categories.

Sergio Fragiacomo a local backgammon player took the most coveted title, the Championship win. Sergio was excited to be a local player taking home the top prize of the tour stop. Other backgammon events took place as well in November, the American Backgammon Tour of the Las Vegas Open where Stacy Turner took the top prize. The French Open and European Doubles took place as well with Fabrizio Lo Surdo winning top honors.
