iPod has announced the debut of two new games in the iTunes Store including Naval Battle: Mission Commander which shares the basics with the Classic Battleship game we all played as children. "You sunk my battleship!". The game includes a new rule book as well as 18 missions players can embark upon from their iPods, additionally and perhaps more importantly to our readers, the iTunes store has also included two new offerings.

Backgammon and Chess will both be offered in the iTunes store beginning this month. The two strategy type classics are available in one download, allowing players to play the games using either 2D or 3D viewing options.

Additionally both iPod games are available with various themes to choose from for gaming fans that want to personalize their gaming experience.
