BackgammonMasters recently announced they would like to buy a pair of shoes. But not just any pair of shoes, they want the gold running shoes worn by Jamaican Olympic record breaker and gold medal holder Usain Bolt. BackgammonMasters plans to auction off the shoes to the highest bidder and once purchased, the money would go to charity.

Bolt otherwise known as “Lightening Bolt” for his speed, set two world records and won gold in the men’s 100 meter and 200 meter races at this year’s Olympic Games in Beijing. Bolt set more than two records when he finished both events in record time he also became the first person to break two world records during the same event at the Olympics.

During the first event, the men’s 100, Bolt finished in 9.69 seconds and in 19.30 in the 200 meter. Bolt blew away all expectations when he finished in 19.30 as announcers believed he would break the record but not with that time. Bolt wore gold shoes when he competed in the races at the Olympics and BackgammonMasters wants to add the shoes to their sports memorabilia traveling collection.

BackgammonMasters should receive a pretty penny for the gold shoes as Bolt has become widely popular since his races. With his cocky attitude and at ease persona on the race track, Bolt is amazing to watch. Finishing his races many feet ahead of his competitors, viewers have surely seen something spectacular when watching Bolt run. Many collectors will most likely be lining up to purchase the gold shoes of Usain Bolt, once BackgammonMasters acquires them.

We shall see if Bolt will be willing to give up his shoes in the coming weeks, as he surely treasures them. Michael Johnson wore similar shoes in previous Olympics and Bolt wanted to show that he could break Johnson’s record, which he did, while wearing similar gold shoes.
