City of Venice Backgammon Tournament Scheduled for November
The City of Venice Backgammon Tournament will begin its twentieth go round this November as the last stop on the 2008 European Backgammon Tour. The event will take place on the 28th through the 30th at the ca’ vendramin calergi, which holds the casino of Venice in its center.

To enter the tournament, players must pay an entry fee and the players who win will see their entry fee returned 100%. The amount of the fee depends on the degree of play. Champion players must post a 620 Euro fee plus 80Euros in registration. Intermediate player’s fee is much lower at 250 Euro and 50 Euro for registration. Amateur and double fees go even lower at 70 and 200 Euros respectively with a 30 and 50 Euro registration fee.

On Friday of the tournament players will register and kickoff will begin. The doubles tournament will start and also the public draw will be done. On Saturday the tournament will continue along with a superjackpot and a swinging in the night tournament.

On Sunday the last chance will be taking place for players and the finals will occur. By the end of the day prizes will be awarded and a cocktail event will take place. Interested parties can find more information on the event at the world backgammon association website.
