Family Friendly Version of Backgammon Set to Debut February 2009
Endless Games is a specialist in classic board games and they recently announced the debut of a new family friendly variation of backgammon. The new game is called Quackgammon and is a travel style game that will be introduced to the world at the New York Toy Fair in February 2009. Quackgammon was created with a simpler play style than the original game of backgammon. The game is designed for quick play and can be played by adults as well as young children. In Quackgammon players move their game pieces (a flock of three mallards) around a peaceful lake instead of moving the traditional fifteen checkers in backgammon.
In Quackgammon players game pieces are protected by staying together than by having multiple checkers as in backgammon. If not together the single fowl would be considered a sitting duck.
The game will be available for shipping in June 2009 and has a MSRP of only $9.99. The game is recommended for player’s ages eight and up.
