First Time Tournament Player Wins Backgammon Event
For most people, the first time they enter a gaming tournament they do well but most often do now win. That was not the case for Shoshanna Lall a few weeks ago. The Trinidad Backgammon Club held a backgammon tournament on March 31st at the Sweet Lime Restaurant in Woodbrook and Lall competed in her first ever tournament. She managed to outlast the field and take the win on her first try.

Everyone was surprised at Lall’s win especially after she went up against Daniel Khan in the final. Spectators could not believe that Lall managed to beat the star player. Lall used her smarts and strategic game play to work her way through the tournament to face Khan in the end.

Khan has played extremely well this year, making the finals in every event held this year. That is way onlookers were shocked that he was beat by Lall, as it was her first tournament. The Trinidad Backgammon Club meets every last Tuesday of the month at the restaurant to compete against each other. It will be interesting to see if Lall will be able to continue her winning streak.
