Play65 Creates Board of Trustees to Clean up Cheating
Play65, the online backgammon room, has created a Board of Trustees to help keep the online backgammon site free of cheaters, mainly those who use bots to win games. The best of the best in backgammon are on the Board of Trustees and the members will look at every suspicious activity and ban those who are found cheating.

When it comes to chess and backgammon, the most common computer programming aids, known as bots, are Snowie and GNU along with many others. These can be hard to detect but Play65 is trying their hardest to maintain a fair and secure playing field for all backgammon players.

Included on the Board of Trustees are: Michael “Falafel” Natanzon, Masayuki “Mochy” Mochizuki and Robert Wachtel. The project manager of Play65 commented on the addition of the Board stating: “We have nothing against bots, but quite the opposite. We encourage our players to use analyzing tools to improve their backgammon skills in their free time that is why we enable our players to save and replay their game history. Yet, we aim to prevent situations when players gain unfair advantages over their opponents by running the game on Snowie. Tracking the cheaters may not be an easy task, but with the assistance of the greatest minds in the backgammon field, I believe we can track most of the cheaters, if not all of them.”
