Backgammon enthusiasts can now get excited as the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada will be hosting The Las Vegas Open Backgammon Tournament this November. The tournament will begin on the 12th and continue until the 16th. The tournament will feature side events along with the main tournament. The tournament is presented by the Nevada Backgammon Association.

Players are asked to bring their own game board and they must be registered by November 3rd. Entries vary in price depending on which side event you enter or if you enter the main event. Entry fees range from $20 to $1000.

The Main Tournament will have three divisions which will have a Main Flight, Progressive Consolation and a Final Day Last Chance. The three divisions are: Championship, Intermediate and Beginner. The payouts are different percentages for the different category as well as the division.

The side events include: Blitz Event, Mini Match Event, Doubles Tournament, Super Jackpot, Limited Jackpot, Open Jackpot, Seniors Tournament, Saturday $50 Jackpot for Beginners Only, Saturday $100 Jackpot and After tournament Tournament.

The tournament will also have a Calcutta Auction. Visitors can buy their favorite player during the auction and if they finish in a certain position then you win in the money. Players in the Championship and Intermediate Divisions are included. A ninety percent return can be won and the payoffs are for the top four players in the Main Flight, Top two players in the Consolation and Last Chance section.
