If you find yourself in Florida this weekend and enjoy backgammon you may want to look into joining the Tampa Bay Backgammon Club for a backgammon tournament. The club is hosting a tournament this weekend at the Hampton Inn in Tarpon Springs.

The Tampa Bay Backgammon Club meets at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Tarpon Springs, Florida and the Chick-N-Bones Café in Brandon, Florida on a steady basis but the tournament will be taking place at the hotel this weekend.

The tournament will take place on August 15th, which is this Saturday, and players will begin competing at twelve noon. The tournament is a single elimination with consolation and prizes will be awarded to first and second place. There will be two divisions available for participation, intermediate and advanced. Intermediate players must pay the $10 entry fee while advanced pays $30.

The Tampa Bay Backgammon Club has a website and they play on a regular basis and new players are invited to attend events. The site keeps track of club standings so if you find yourself in Florida often and enjoy the game of backgammon you might want to consider joining the group.
